Things To Know

Hey there! Welcome to Zipolo Habu Resort!

We’re super excited that you’re considering a visit. To help you kick back and enjoy your time here, we’ve put together a few things to know before you arrive:

What to Pack

To help you make the most of your stay, here are a few things to know:

You’re heading to an island with a tropical climate, so you’ll want to pack clothes that keep you cool and comfy. Choose light fabrics that are sufficient for both sunny and rainy days. Don’t forget a hat to protect yourself from the sun during your tours and excursions—and of course, your swimwear!

For your feet: Sandals and flip-flops will work most of the time, but consider bringing shoes that are good for walking in shallow water or for bushwalks.

If you can, bring your snorkeling gear. If it’s not feasible, don’t worry—we have a few masks you can borrow while you’re here!
The sun is fantastic, but make sure to pack your sunscreen too. And don’t forget some bug spray for those bushwalks!

Dining & Food Options

We have a fully licensed restaurant that offers a variety of dishes on our menu of the day. Seafood is our specialty, but we also serve delicious meat and vegetarian options.

  • Breakfast: Normally starts at 7 AM, but we can serve it earlier upon request.

  • Lunch: Available from 12 PM to 2 PM.

  • Dinner: Served starting at 5 PM.

If you prefer to dine in the comfort of your room, we offer room service! Just let us know, and we’ll take care of it.

We’re also happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions you may have. Please inform us in advance when making your booking so we can ensure you have a great dining experience!

Bar

Our bar features a selection of Solomon-owned beers, along with a variety of essential spirits and wines. If you have a specific drink in mind that you'd like to enjoy, we recommend bringing it along with you.

Transportation

At Zipolo Habu Resort, we’ve got you covered for all your transfer needs to and from the resort. Feel free to contact us to inquire about transfer options and rates!

Internet & Connectivity

Stay connected with our free Wi-Fi, available in the bar and restaurant area. Just ask our friendly bartender for the password, and you’ll be good to go!

If you need internet access while in your accommodation, you can purchase a Solomon Telekom or BeMobile SIM card, which will allow you to connect to the local data network.

Check-In & Check-Out

We are flexible with check-in and check-out times based on your flight schedule. However, if you’re being transferred to a location further than Munda, we recommend checking out by mid-morning. Please let us know your arrival and departure details in advance.

Resort Policies

  • Pets: Please refrain from bringing pets to the island. If you’re on a visiting yacht, please keep your pets onboard or enquire with us where you can take your pets for a run/walk.

  • Smoking: Smoking is permitted around the resort, but it is not allowed in the dining area or accommodations. If you need to smoke at your accommodation please do so on your balcony.

  • Noise: We love a good time, but it’s best enjoyed around the bar. Loud music is not allowed in accommodations unless your group has exclusive booking at the resort.

Local Culture & Etiquette

  • Dress Code: Dress comfortably, but please be mindful of the length of your skirt or shorts when visiting the villages. At Zipolo Habu Resort, you’re free to wear what you wish.

  • Nudism: Nudism is not permitted in the Solomon Islands.

  • Tipping: Tipping is not expected, but if you feel inclined to show appreciation, it’s perfectly fine!

Safety & Emergency Information

  • Medical Facility: The nearest medical facility is the Munda Helena Goldie Hospital. It provides basic medical services, but medication availability is limited. We recommend packing any essential medications you may need during your stay.

  • On-Site Assistance: Our staff and management live at the resort, so help is close by in case of any emergencies.

Weather & Best Times to Visit

The weather in the Solomon Islands is typical of a tropical climate, featuring sunny days with occasional rain. The rain is refreshing and helps to cool things down. Our cyclone season runs from November to May; however, this doesn’t mean you will consistently experience bad weather during this period.

Best months to visit? Any month is great for visiting the Solomons! Even during the cyclone season, you can enjoy beautiful weather.

Please note that we experience very high tides from December to February, while our major low tides occur primarily from June to August.
