Zipolo Activities
Fishing, Surfing, Diving & Exploring - we've got it all
Although we're known as a fishing resort in the Solomon Islands due to our years of experience and expertise, we're also a great place to visit if you love diving, snorkeling, surfing, exploring or just want to relax.
We are also a great resort for families. Children love our easy access beach for swimming and the freedom to explore.
Fishing Charters
When it comes to fishing, we have been offering sports fisihng in the area since 1989! Trolling, popping, casting, bottom-bouncing or river fishing - we have you covered. Bring your own fishing gear if you are a serious fisher or just use our gear.
Scuba Diving
Through our partnership with local scuba dive operation 'Dive Munda' we are able to offer our guests incredible diving opportunities, paired with personalised and professional service. Dive Munda is a PADI Dive Centre offering courses at all levels and specialising in showcasing the great diving that our area has to offer.
The local dive sites boast: a spectacular and unique fresh/salt water cave dive, stunning reef and drop offs, together with an ever-growing range of WWII wrecks.
What's even better is that Dive Munda offers a free pick up and drop off service to all Zipolo Habu guests.
They also offer a range of training options onsite - and with a plethora of dive sites just around the corner, there is no better place to learn how to dive than here on Lola Island.
Dive Munda operates all year round and dives can be booked with the resort's assistance at any time.

Surfing
Although the local surf can be very inconsistent, when the surf is up, you have it all to yourself.
Our resort break - 'Skull reef', is a long, right hand break over deep coral reef - nice and safe. When it's breaking, it's usually very clean. You can also do a left hander on it!
A range of used boards are available for hire from the resort at modest rates.
Be prepared to do other activities for days when it's not pumping.
Exploring the Wild West:
We have a wide range of tours designed to help you explore the local area.
- Roviana cultural shrine - If you are interested in our Roviana history you need to visit Skull Island which is only a 5 minute boat trip away.
- Snorkelling - We have a few good spots that you can snorkel on either from the boat or from a beach on a secluded island.
- Nature tours - Lagoon excursions, rainforest river trips, waterfall hikes and hornbill roosting are some of what we can offer.
- WWII - For the WWII buffs, we have something for you too. Our excursions involve a day trip visiting japanese guns, a sunken japanese freighter, an underground japanese hospital, American war tanks and if you feel up to it a snorkel on an American hellcat.
Resort based activities:
There's plenty of other activities right here on Lola Island and the great thing about them is they are free of charge for guests.
- Lola Bush Walking Track - is a great walking track which weaves through the rainforests to the beach on the far east side of the island. Enjoy the large array of local wildlife which include a rare bird species.
- Fishing from our private pier - a great place to find your dinner and when the fish are biting, you'll be surprised what you can catch from there.
- Kayaking - have a quiet paddle or circumnavigate the island. Kayaks are free for guests and available any time.
- Book swap - free for guests and full of some everchanging great titles.
- Board games - fun for the odd rainy day, we've got a selection of board games including a beautifully locally carved chess table.
